It is said that the broadband infrastructure is fully deployed and the Internet culture is highly developed in Korea, however, we don't have any general award or festival so far. Finally we are preparing the [InfoTrust Award 2005] which is a little similar event to the Webby Award.

InfoTrust Center is a non-profit activist network for digital history archiving, supported by some social group and Daum Foundation. (In fact, I don't know the exact spelling. Which is correct, InfoTrust Center or InforTrust Center? Currently it has two domain names: http://www.InfoTrust.or.kr and http://www.InforTrust.org .) People in the InfoTrust Center are very enthusiastic and brilliant and they have planned several interesting events since the InfoTrust Center was founded. I am sure that we can discover many nice websites in Korean through this event...!

I am in the recommendation committee, so I read the guidelines for selection carefully. There are some unique criteria for this award, but the one that I want to emphasize is: "The digital heritage which is valuable to preserve and restore." This event is co-hosted by Korean National Commission for UNESCO. It means that InfoTrust Center will archive the selected websites as well as award them.
