Off to London for a conference
I will fly to London on 6th to present an article at "Young People and New Technologies" conference hosted by the youth study group in the British Sociological Association. I am sure that I can find several interesting researches there! If I get any attractive information or idea, absolutely I will post them. Of course, I'm thinking the sharing of the summary version of my article through my blog.
In fact, my birthday is September 6, so I will spend the 22 hours of my 2Xth birthday in just 'moving' (including 17 hour-flight time). Now I just want to have a pleasant flight tomorrow.
Today I will write most other things in Korean, at the request of my Korean friends. HaHa. I want to communicate more with them, too!

9월 6일, 학회 참석차 영국으로 출국합니다. 사실 9월 6일이 제 생일인데 비행시간만 17시간이네요. 공항으로 이동하는 시간과 공항에 머무르는 시간을 포함해서 약 22시간 정도를 순수하게 이동에만 투자하는 생일이 될 듯 싶습니다. 생일에 탑승할 때 혜택 준다는 이야기를 들어본 적이 없어서, 장시간의 비행에도 아무런 기대감을 갖고 있지 않습니다. (사실 누가 생일에 17시간씩 비행기를 타겠어요. 흑.)
전세계에서 가장 큰 사회학 학회 중의 하나인 British Sociological Association의 youth study group에서 주최하는 "Young People and New Technology"에서 발표하기 위해 출국하는 것인데, 늘 그렇듯이 이번에도 너무 촉박하게 준비했기 때문에, 잘 할 수 있을지 모르겠네요. 학회 홈페이지에 들어가면 발표자들 중에 한국인이 2명밖에 없는데, 그 중에서 순수한 한국 이름을 쓰고 있는 것이 저랍니다. 다른 한 분은 아마도 외국에서 사시는가봐요.
학회가 끝나면 London에 잠깐 머무르면서 관광을 할 생각이긴 하지만, 사실 어느 곳을 둘러볼지도 전혀 정하지 못했답니다. 학회 기간 중에 생각을 해볼까 싶어요. 다행히도 숙소는 정해졌는데, (학회 중에는 물론 공식 숙소에 머무릅니다.) London에 친구가 살고 있어서 친구의 집에 잠시 머무르기로 했습니다. 여행 기간이 길지 않아서, 다행히 친구에게 신세를 질 수 있게 되었어요. 물가 비싼 London에서 큰 행운을 잡은 셈이지요.
출국 전날이라 정신이 없어서, 이만 쓸게요. 영국에서도 인터넷/휴대폰으로 모두 연락 가능합니다. 영국에서 만나요! ^-^
